About Monticelli

Monticelli Painting and Decorating, Inc. was initially established in 1985 by founders: Robin F. Monticelli and Raymond Monticelli. The company has proven itself to be a company dedicated to the highest standards of service and quality. Specializing in commercial tenant improvement projects, Monticelli Painting has matured into a team of skilled professionals capable of satisfying the needs of the most particular clients. After 21 years of overseeing Monticelli Painting and Decorating, Inc., the founders decided to sell the company to four existing employees and a new structure was formed.

Who We Are

Victor Volhontseff, President, Stockholder and Estimator, has more than 45 years’ experience in the industry. He began his experience at the age of 13, painting with his grandfather, who owned his own painting company. Victor credits his grandfather with teaching him the importance of integrity, hard work and customer satisfaction. Victor spent many years as a journeyman painter, progressing to superintendent, estimator, and eventual business owner. Collectively, this experience enables him to deliver superior service to our clients, and guide the Company as it continues its success and growth. Victor also serves as the Company’s representative with industry organizations, such as Northern California Painting and Finishing Contractors (NCPFC), and holds the C-33 license for the Company.

Francisco De Paz, Vice President, Stockholder, and Superintendent, started with Monticelli Painting in 1996 as a journeyman painter. Gaining the confidence and respect of the Company’s  owners at the time, he quickly became a foreman, managing our largest, most complicated projects. His hard work and dedication continued to serve him well, and in 2004 he became the Company’s Superintendent. Today, Francisco is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all jobs awarded to Monticelli, while somehow also managing to service a large segment of corporate accounts. Francisco prides himself on successfully guiding our work, mentoring our employees, and helping to ensure that we and our clients are all successful. Francisco also received a degree in Accounting in Guatemala City in 1985.

Genelle Volhontseff, Chief Operating Officer, joined Monticelli Painting in early 2017. She brings to that role more than 30 years’ experience in the real estate and construction industry. Genelle started her career working for a local developer. She then spent the past 21 years working for Wilson Meany, developers of landmark projects such as San Francisco’s Ferry Building and Exploratorium. She served there as an Asset Manager, and then as a Development Manager, responsible for all aspects of entitlements, core and shell construction and tenant improvements. Genelle has broad experience in construction, from design and budgeting to project management. This experience allows her to effectively guide the Company’s financial and business operations, and to assist with the management of our current projects.
